"The origin of the game Kubb dates back to the Viking Era A.D. 770. Vikings were pre-historic people; who did not write history books themselves. Their neighbors to the South recorded much of the Viking history during chance meetings as Vikings sailed the seas. There was more to these people than the popular warrior stereotype. Vikings took great pride in being skilled craftsmen, poets, politicians and loyal family members. Kubb was a popular game that Viking family members played as they searched for firewood. 200 years ago, people in Scandinavia became very interested in Vikings and Kubb was rediscovered. Thanks to their interests, outdoor game enthusiasts now have the opportunity to play a game that challenges even the most skilled player while enjoying the camaraderie of family and friends."
